So Long, Summer

Just when we thought that the hot summer weather had started to fade, mother nature decided to give us round 2. The past couple of days have been hot and sunny in the city, with more summery weather coming our way. I love the shape of this Cynthia Rowley dress, not to mention the blue hue which seems to be everywhere at the moment. I’m a little sad to see the end of what has been an amazing summer, but also eagerly anticipating the cooler fall weather. Scarves, knits, beanies – yes please.

I love watching Australian success stories, and Zimmermann is no exception. With a huge following back in Australia, it was only a matter of time before they conquered the rest of the world. They are going from strength to strength, as was proven in their show at NYFW. The new collection is absolutely amazing. A mixture of pretty, sheer pastels and glam, bold metallics. The striped bustier with the gathered gold pants – jaw droppingly phenomenal.

Wang Round Up

Its that time of year – New York Fashion Week. The city is buzzing; immaculately dressed fashionistas are swarming the streets, cabs are hard to come by and tables at restaurants are a rare commodity.

Alexander Wang has delivered yet another amazing collection. Neutral colours, chunky shoes and boxy cuts – it had Wang written all over it. I can’t get enough of that low back dress. Yes please.

Quilted Obsession

Quilted leather. Obsessed. Nothing better. Jackets, shorts, skirts, bags – it adds instant texture and depth to any outfit. As soon as the weather cools down in the city I’m going to get my hands on a black quilted leather jacket. A good investment – I can’t see it going out of style any time soon.

Belt It

Belts are hugely underrated. They instantly transform an outfit and always go a long way in making an outfit more polished. These four are all under $35 – perfect way to update your wardrobe on a budget. Not only that, but they cinch in the waist which is hugely flattering. Win win!

I love incorporating a sport style into my day-to-day outfits. Comfortable, sleek, simple. Keep the look all black so that it remains appropriate for the city. Mirrored lenses can be hard to pull off but these Oliver Peoples sunglasses really hit the mark. Don’t even get me started on these Sandro sneakers – serious shoe love.

Back to Reality

 

I’m finally back in the city after an amazing holiday. M and I headed down to Mexico and Belize for 3 blissful weeks. We spent our time lounging in the sun, reading books, eating mouthwatering tacos and drinking cocktails. It was a pretty tough few weeks. I’ll post some photos in the coming days.

This might be one of the best top and short sets I’ve seen. It is the result of a new colab between label Kaelen NYC and DJ Hannah Bronfman. The sage colour is amazing and the silk shorts have the vital rise on the outer leg – ultra flattering. White accessories keep this look light for summer days. Festival ready.

 

Daily Rag

Rag & Bone continues to impress me. Their basics are beautifully cut and well made. I recently bought a black blazer similar to the one above. I’m in love. It fits perfectly across the shoulders and finishes at the top of the thigh a few inches below the hip – exactly where a blazer should sit. Apart from being timeless, a black blazer is incredibly versatile. I can’t wait to wear mine with denim cutoffs and a black floppy hat. YES.
